Cuffs Worthy of Wonder Woman

When I think of Wonder Woman, I think of that iconic image of her crossing her wrists and deflecting bullets with her cuffs. While the gorgeous enameled leather cuffs we're bringing you today from Austin-based jeweler Leigh Navarro aren't strong enough to withstand gunfire, they exude beauty, magic and power -- classic superhero qualities.

Leigh's story is a great one. Her mother was an enamelist, and so she grew up traveling around to fairs and exhibitions, learning the craft. To create her enameled discs, Leigh starts with a piece of copper, gently curved to match the natural curve of a wrist, then fires it with powdered glass to create a free-form design. No two are the same.

She then attaches the enameled disc to a soft leather band. The craftsmanship is extraordinary. The skiving and edges are perfectly finished, the snaps expertly attached. The end result is a one-of-a-kind statement piece (a special thanks to florist Anne Sadow, who first told us about Leighelena). It's a little southwestern, a whole lot modern, and yes, even part Wonder Woman. This is the perfect gift for any wonderful woman in your life!
