Despite thousands of available cleaning products, it takes a domestic detective to decipher what to use to remove baked-on grime. Sometimes the worst happens when harsh abrasives ruin a beloved piece of cookware. Today’s Grommet makes it easy to tackle a sink full of dirty pots and pans without scratching your cookware or overdosing on detergents that can be harmful for the environment.

Industrial designer Hiroki Hayashi created these unique scrubbers (they’ve won international design awards) using naturally abrasive materials such as corncobs, peach pits and pecan shells. The Original Spaghetti Scrub Starter Set combines Goodbye Detergent !’s gentle scrub (made with peach pits) and coarse scrub (made from corncobs) with a mountable holder. Use the coarse scrub for roll-up-your-sleeves jobs and the gentle for glass, wood, or nonstick pans. Spaghetti Scrubs will last for months, get softer with use, and require very little detergent or soap -- and often none at all.

Another handy tool from Goodbye Detergent ! is the Kitchen Scraper, which removes food and grease from bowls, pans and work surfaces before you wash, reducing the need for detergents and conserving water. It’s rare to find products that make a chore seem appealing, but we think Goodbye Detergent !’s gear will make everyone want to clean up.
