It’s a sinking feeling, 30 minutes into a long drive, when you realize you’ve forgotten your phone. Then there’s the dilemma: Do you go on without it and feel oddly disconnected all day, or retrace your route and waste an hour retrieving it?

Like it or not, most of us are lost if we forget our cell phones. Jim Logan knew the feeling -- so he did something about it. Jim created Bringrr, a small gadget that acts as an alarm for your cell phone. Bringrr syncs with your phone via Bluetooth, and if you start your car and Bringrr can’t detect the presence of your phone in the car, it will beep and flash a red light before you hit the road. Even if your phone is buried at the bottom of a purse or laptop bag, Bringrr will find the phone’s Bluetooth signal and let you know that you haven’t forgotten it. (Note: Bringrr only works with Bluetooth-enabled phones.)

There are two models available. The Bringrr Classic plugs into your car’s power port and determines if your phone is with you when you start the car. The Bringrr Charge adds a charging feature, so you can juice up your cell phone during a drive. (It comes with a charging cable, or you can plug your own USB charger cable into the device.) One easy setup is all it takes, and Bringrr will be there in your car as a reassuring backup, making sure you and your phone stay together.
