Modern Classics

Automoblox aren’t new, they’re just great.

Industrial designer Patrick Calello got the idea for wooden blocks that kids could arrange (and rearrange) into creative toy cars back when he was a student at Carnegie Mellon University back in 1992. In 1999, with some years in product design and manufacturing under his belt, Calello refined his concept, and in 2004 Automoblox hit the market in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan. Since then they’ve won raves from parents and kids, and have racked up the toy awards.

We love them because they’re sturdy, they’re imaginative, and the fresh, classic-meets-contemporary aesthetic is a favorite of ours. They’re the kind of cool looking toys you don’t mind when the kids leave out.

You’ll find the toys appeal to young vehicle lovers, puzzle enthusiasts, those with a flair for art and design, and um, everyone else. Automoblox lets kids “dream it, build it, drive it,” which translates into hours of fun for the whole family.
