This is no ordinary company. Under the direction of Ethan Imboden, Jimmyjane is changing how the world thinks about intimate accessories. Ethan has a background in engineering and industrial design, and he combines these two disciplines to create products that are sophisticated, playful, and revolutionary. His repertoire includes scented candles, massage lotions, and vibrating massagers.

Jimmyjane is tackling once-taboo subjects with style and discretion, and the company is also winning awards for its designs. Ethan collaborated on the design of the Form 2 vibrator with visionary industrial designer Yves Behar (who also contributed to the design of PACT’s organic underwear). The Form 2 is a waterproof, rechargeable vibrator. The design earned Jimmyjane a coveted IDEA award from the Industrial Designers Society of America. That’s no easy feat.

“This is a very progressive company, very tasteful, and really changing perceptions in this market,” said Phil Schlein (one of several people who recommended Jimmyjane to us). “You have to check them out.”

Before founding Jimmyjane, Ethan designed mainstream products such as footwear, cell phones, and furniture. When he discovered that the market for intimate accessories needed design attention, he decided to focus his creativity there. In Ethan’s words: “If anything should be beautifully designed, it’s the products that are involved in our sexuality.”
