Hold the Water, Please

A waterless car wash? It sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s for real. Lucky Earth created an eco-friendly way to clean your ride without pouring gallons of soapy water down the drain. It’s easy, effective and thoroughly nontoxic.

The inventors are Lisa and Jeff Peri, who went looking for chemical-free car cleaning products that wouldn’t harm their daughter Kayla (left), Lucky Earth who suffers from a chemical sensitivity disorder. When they couldn’t find any, they solved the problem on their own. Their Lucky Earth kit includes a 32 oz. spray cleaner (enough for 7 to 10 washes), a non-petroleum wheel cleaner, and four microfiber towels. The spray cleaner uses natural surfactants derived from coconut to break up surface dirt and grime, while silicone allows the residue to be whisked away without scratching and leaves a smooth, glossy finish. Lucky Earth’s cleaner can also be used inside cars (and boats) on the dashboard, leather seats, doors and any other non-fabric surfaces.

Waterless Car CleanerA typical commercial car wash uses 20 to 45 gallons of water, and a DIY car wash in the driveway uses a whopping 80 to 140 gallons of water. But with Lucky Earth, you don’t even need to turn on the hose — a handy feature as summer gets underway and water bans go into effect. Lucky Earth is safe for you and safe for the environment. It’s a great way to clean up.
