It’s hard to believe Sergio Gutierrez’s exquisite jewelry and accessories are crafted from humble ball and chain pieces. Sergio, an engineer by trade, transforms these simple elements into a stunning mesh-like fabric he creates by soldering the tiny pieces together in intricate patterns. His work led him from Columbia, where he was born, to San Francisco, where he got his first big break in a Haight-Ashbury boutique when Betsey Johnson discovered his jewelry. Sergio’s interest in 16th century artifacts, particularly chainmail, has inspired his work.
Today Sergio’s studio, called Liquid Metal, creates gorgeous pieces forged of this luxurious metal mesh that really does feel like it’s melting into your skin. 
We’ve selected a wide cuff bracelet with a diamond design to feature.
