Is it a tricycle with no handlebars? A unicycle with three wheels? However you describe it, the Yucycle is cool, new and tons of fun to ride. It’s designed for hands-free cruising. You pedal with your feet and steer by making subtle shoulder movements, so your hands are free to hold a cell phone, drink a soda, or shoot hoops if you’re really coordinated. It moves forward and backward, and you can ride it “scoot style” or have a friend hop on the rear step.)
The inventors of the Yucycle are Scott and Kurt Comstock, who create sports and leisure products that other companies commission. The Yucycle is the first product Scott and Kurt are taking to market themselves. The two brothers imagined that adults and kids over 12 would enjoy cruising, slow and mellow, on the Yucycle. But it didn’t take long for high-energy teens who were testing the cycle to start doing tricks like bunny hopping and riding on one or two wheels. It turns on a dime, so expect some pretty extreme maneuvers from teen cruisers.
Learning to ride the Yucycle is easy, almost intuitive, and a new rider can be peddling around town in no time. Judging by early reviews from teen testers, the Comstock’s hip cycle is about to reinvent cruising, both for the mellow crowd and the extreme acrobats. Ride on!
