Make short work of a dirty job

We’ve all heard it a thousand times — it’s not safe to be up on our ladders, digging leaves and other not-so-pleasant debris out of our gutters. One slip can cause serious injury. So what better way to tackle this tricky and dangerous job than with a robot? This mighty little robot that blasts away dirt, leaves and sludge is a time saving warrior that will entertain as it works. Make short work of a dirty job.

Colin Angle, irobotThe Looj gutter cleaner comes from iRobot, a Massachusetts company Co-founded by MIT roboticist Colin Angle. iRobot makes robots for the military and police ( you might have seen iRobot’s pioneering Roomba floor-vacuuming robot). Their latest invention for the home is a mighty little robot that pulverizes leaves and blasts dirt and sludge. It can tackle a 60-foot section of gutter in ten minutes. Ten minutes!

You don’t have to keep climbing and repositioning your ladder every few feet. With Looj, just put your ladder in one spot, place the robot in the gutter and send it off. (You need 2 1/4" of clearance for Looj if you have gutter straps.) There’s a removable handle that doubles as a wireless remote control, so you can move the Looj forward and backward or change the direction of the spinning blades, all from the safety of your yard.

Looj is a great solution for a job none of us likes to do. Your neighbors will be jealous, and you’ll feel safer the next time you tackle this dreaded — but important — fall ritual.
