Talk about this Grommet
"Recycling can be Beautiful"
Hi everyone. My name is Ann Harmon and I just knew when creating this jewelry that we could take some simple, ordinary soda can tabs and create something beautiful with them. What I didn't know or expect was the incredible reaction we'd receive from customers, friends and the media. It's been overwhelming and very exciting! Not only does the jewelry elicit a lot of oohs and aahs, but we get to do some great things for the environment, including donating a portion of each sale to environmental causes.

This jewelry is very cool. It is eyecatching, but the clincher is when you realize what it is made of. Its a conversation starter and a statement maker, but its also really beautiful and fun. We love it!

Hi Sara. So glad you like my environmental jewelry. It's definitely fun to wear and it's great to hear the comments from others when they see what it's made from. Mostly, people can't believe how beautiful we've been able to turn something very ordinary into.

Great piece on your jewelry Ann! It's amazing the exposure that you've gotten recently - The Emmys, Jane Goodall, etc. That's fantastic. You must be beyond thrilled. I'm going to post it on my Facebook page for everyone to see! Mazel tov!!! Love ya', Rachel

We faithfully save our soda can tabs for the Ronald McDonald house. I've always wondered how they turn them into value. I love to see how something that would have been thrown out has value again. Thanks Grommet!

Thanks Rachel for spreading the word. The excitement really grows as people find out cool this jewelry is. Plus they know that, in addition to recycling and being as environmentally conscious as a company can be, we also donate a portion of each sale to environmental causes.

Hi Kate. It always makes me happy to hear how many people are collecting tabs for non-profit groups. The amount of money they raise is simply astonishing. The local group that we work with normally turns in the tabs that they've collected to the aluminum recycler and are paid the going rate for aluminum. When we need tabs, we choose to buy them from this group at a much higher rate than they would receive from the recycler. This way, more can go to the charities that this group supports (children's medical research). It really is a win-win situation.

My son's teacher is the teacher at his school who is the most eco-conscious and who incorporates the most environmental teachings into the school's curriculum. I think this would be a wonderful teacher gift that honors her dedication to recycling, while is still a beautiful gift.

You're right Katherine. These make great gifts for teachers. Being a former teacher I understand why other teachers are so taken with my jewelry. We are incredible problem-solvers and will always find a way to resuse materials. We are especially delighted when we see a really interesting solution.

Wicked cool idea. This idea is going go far I can tell. Keep up the great work. I loved the video. I wish the business well and I plan to see it everywhere very soon. I bet everybody loves this idea. The jewelry is so versatile. I think I could wear it to a fancy dinner or to class or just around the house. Good luck!

Thank you so much Jessica for all of your good wishes and I am so glad you like our jewelry. You're right! The jewelry looks good both with a jean jacket or something dressier. No matter what you wear, it just seems to go with it. Thanks again!

I still can't believe such a beautiful product can come from recycled materials. Seeing the process is truly amazing and I couldn't be more proud of my mom.

Great idea! I have already bought 2 pieces to give to my girlfriend as Christmas gifts. She loves jewelry and the environment, so this couldn't be a better match.

A fine piece of jewelry that combines art, fashion, and a great cause! I have bought the bracelets for both my sister and mother, now with the pendants and earrings I'll have even more variety when buying their gifts! Very excited to see what Ann- Made turns out in the future!

Guys seem to be especially drawn to this jewelry. The bracelets, pendants and earrings make gifts for their wives, mothers, sisters, girlfriends and even the men's bracelet for themselves. Thanks to Dave and Brendan for thinking of the special women in their lives and giving them a piece of Ann-Made jewelry.
