Fall is here and winter is fast approaching, which means lots of evening exercise will be done under the cloak of darkness. To help you stay safe, we like GoMotion gear with built-in lighting that lets you see and be seen in the dark.

Company founders Jonathan Craig and Bob Hunnewell came up with the idea for GoMotion when they couldn’t find an effective, comfortable alternative to the reflective vests and headlamps that many athletes use for evening excercise.. A few years ago, Jonathan mounted an incandescent lens onto a hand-carved wood chest plate and tied it to his torso using a rope harness – this was to be the first prototype for GoMotion’s wearable body-lighting gear!

Designed for runners and walkers, the Street Runner Lite Vest is made from lightweight mesh material and has an LED light positioned at chest height so you can see where you’re going, and two flashing red lights mounted on the rear so you can be seen from the back. The Sport Runner Lite Belt is made from the same breathable mesh fabric and also has LED lights mounted front and back. Both options let you adjust the intensity, width and direction of the front light with pockets for your cell phone and keys. Strap on a light vest or belt and you’re ready to run.
