Green All Over

Free time in the summer should be spent enjoying the outdoors, not mowing the lawn or dragging sprinklers around the yard.

If you love a green lawn but dread the maintenance, check out Pearl’s Premium grass seed. It was developed by environmentalist Jackson Madnick, who spent six years researching lawns that grow slowly, require less water and don’t need chemical fertilizers to thrive.

You’ll be able to give your lawnmower and sprinklers a rest since a lawn grown from Madnick’s seed mix needs mowing less frequently (as little as once a month) and develops 12-inch roots, making it drought-tolerant during dry summer months. After the lawn is established, it won’t need regular watering, says Madnick, who so far has tested his seed blend in the Northeast U.S. region.

The result is a lawn that’s not only low maintenance but also good for the environment. You can conserve water, cut back on the fossil fuel burned by your lawnmower, and avoid chemical fertilizers that wind up seeping into storm drains and infiltrating water supplies.

If that sounds like your idea of a great lawn, start preparing now. September is the time to plant grass seed, so come summertime you’ll have a strong, healthy lawn.

Pearl’s Premium makes it easy to go green – in more ways than one.
