Cleveland jewelry designer Christine Mehling had a successful, thriving business but she also had a burning passion: baking cookies. And the best part about baking the cookies was in the decoration, the “icing on the cake” er, cookie.
She gathered the best and most pristine ingredients she could find, including organic sweet butter and cage free eggs (no trans fats or preservatives here), and began turning out beautiful vanilla butter cookies. She decided to hand-design and embellish each cookie with bold graphics and repetitive images (that’s where the jewelry design background comes in). They began selling like hot cakes—as gifts, for showers or weddings, or as special treats.
Christine chose her company’s name, Better Bit of Butter, from an old nursery rhyme she knew as a kid: “a bit of butter will make my batter better…” it went. Most who taste her fondant-frosted creations heartily agree it IS the butter that makes them taste so good.
The cookies come in 4″×4″ or 2″×2″ minis, and you can choose a design from her selection, or Christine will create something special just for you.
Too pretty to eat? Nope, we’ve got the crumbs to prove it.
