I recently posted a photo of something I owned and asked for help identifying its origins. Hannah helped me right out.
Here’s a new one. I know what it is. I even use it once a year if I am having a good June (hint). But just wondering if other people will nail its use.

It's about 6-7 inches in diameter

I’m thinking that it might have to do with pouring things like berries into jars?
And you would be correct, Schmutzie. Lemme see if anyone wants to elaborate before I say more.
I believe that it is a canning funnel. My Mother used an old tin model…the copper is definitely sexier!
Bingo! You have it Anne Marie. It’s really great for pouring hot fruit into the canning jars. I make strawberry jam every three years or so (basically if I am unemployed or otherwise available). I love to pick the strawberries and see the lined up jars of delicious results.
Copper, tin; makes my old green plastic one seem like a poor cousin! And mine doesn’t even have a handle either.
It does the job, though!
It is really pretty Hannah. I have it hanging on my wall in the kitchen of our Maine camp (where I make jam, usually.) It looks great against the knotty pine panelling (that I painted white a long time ago, just in that room).
